February 2014 Surface 2 Firmware Updates

Microsoft has released February 2014 firmware update for Surface 2. This updates improved Bluetooth audio related issues, and resolved issues related to Bluetooth keyboard and mouse inavailability when waking Surface. This updates also resolved wireless network connectivity issues.

Overview
These drivers and firmware are compatible with Windows 8.1 (Pro and Enterprise). Because updates are cumulative, when you install the latest update, you'll also get all the previous updates if your Surface doesn't have them already. Only updates that apply to Surface will be downloaded and installed.

What's new in February 2014 Surface 2 firmware update?
February 2014 updates:
  • Marvell AVASTAR Bluetooth Radio Adapter (v14.62.28058.10171).
    • Improves Bluetooth® audio related issues.
    • Resolves issues related to Bluetooth keyboard and mouse inavailability when waking Surface.
  • Marvell AVASTAR 350N Wireless Network Controller (v14.62.28058.10171) resolves wireless network connectivity issues.

How to update Surface 2 firmware?
Updates are automatically installed on Surface through Windows Update. However, you can also manually install updates by following the steps below:
  1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen and then tap or click Settings.
  2. (If you’re using a mouse, point to upper-right corner of screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Settings.)
  3. Tap or click Change PC settings.
  4. Under PC settings, tap or click Windows Update.
  5. Tap or click Check for updates now.
  6. When updates are available, you will see a message that tells you how many updates are available. You may need to restart Surface 2 after the updates have been installed.
