February 2014 Surface Pro 2 Firmware Updates

Microsoft has released February 2014 firmware update for Surface Pro 2. This firmware updates provides tuning to the Surface display calibration and includes a number of bug fixes. This firmware updates also improved Touch Cover 2 and Type Cover 2 two-finger touchpad use.

Overview
This firmware and driver updates contains drivers for all of the components in the Surface Pro 2 device. These drivers and firmware are compatible with Windows 8.1 Pro and Windows 8.1 Enterprise.

Because updates are cumulative, when you install the latest update, you'll also get all the previous updates if your Surface Pro 2 doesn't have them already. Only updates that apply to Surface Pro 2 will be downloaded and installed.

How to update Surface Pro 2 firmware?
Updates are automatically installed on Surface Pro 2 through Windows Update. However, you can also manually install updates by following the steps below:

1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen and then tap or click Settings.
2. (If you’re using a mouse, point to upper-right corner of screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Settings.)
3. Tap or click Change PC settings.
4. Under PC settings, tap or click Windows Update.
5. Tap or click Check for updates now.
6. When updates are available, you will see a message that tells you how many updates are available. You may need to restart Surface Pro 2 after the updates have been installed.

Download Surface Pro 2 firmware and driver pack
Surface Pro 2 firmware and driver pack contains drivers for all of the components in the Surface Pro 2 device, as well as updates to the system firmware that have been released via Windows Update. To download the firmware and driver package, go to the Microsoft Download Center. Once you click on the “Download” button, you will be prompted to select the files you need.

What's new in February 2014 Surface Pro 2 firmware update?
The February 2014 update includes these firmware and performance improvements:

• Surface Display Panel (v1.0.2.0) provides tuning to the Surface display calibration.
• Surface Pro Embedded Controller Firmware (v24.00.50).
  
  • Resolves issue where Surface would not go into hibernation.
  • Resolves issue where available battery percentage was reported incorrectly.
• Surface Pro System Aggregator Firmware (v2.04.0150).
  
  • Resolves issue where Surface would reset upon repeated Surface Cover attach/detach.
  • Resolves issue where On Screen Keyboard would unexpectedly pop-up even though Surface Cover is attached.
  • Resolves issue where Surface Cover is not detected after wake up from sleep.
• Surface Touch Cover 2 Firmware Update Device (v2.0.228.0) update improves two-finger touchpad use.
• Surface Type Cover 2 Firmware Update Device (v2.0.226.0) update improves two-finger touchpad use.

Note: These drivers and firmware are not compatible with Windows 8.0 or Surface RT.
