Windows Phone SDK 8.0 Update 3 Emulators Now Available for Download

Microsoft has released the Windows Phone SDK 8.0 Update 3 Emulators. This update adds five new emulator images to an existing installation of Windows Phone SDK 8.0. With this update installed, you can test how your apps will run on devices that have Update 3 (version 8.0.10492 or higher) of Windows Phone 8.

The Windows Phone SDK 8.0 Update 3 Emulators is a new set of emulator images that correspond to Windows Phone 8 Update 3. In addition to updating the current emulator resolutions (WVGA, WXGA, and 720p) to 8.0.10512, Update 3 also includes a 1080p emulator that you can use to test how your app renders on a 1080x1920 resolution screen, whether to deliver HD media (video or images) or to provide an app layout tailored to the larger screen.

The Update 3 Emulators package adds the following to an existing installation of Windows Phone SDK 8.0:

• New Windows Phone Emulator 8.0 Update 3 WVGA
• New Windows Phone Emulator 8.0 Update 3 WVGA 512 MB
• New Windows Phone Emulator 8.0 Update 3 WXGA
• New Windows Phone Emulator 8.0 Update 3 720p
• New Windows Phone Emulator 8.0 Update 3 1080p
