What's new in Chrome 30?
Chrome 30 brings quicker access to search by image and several changes for stability and performance:
Easier searching by image.
With Chrome 30 you can quickly discover all sorts of content related to an image by right-clicking on it, or by long pressing it on mobile devices, and selecting the option to search for it within your default search provider.
Chrome Apps APIs
Chrome Apps support a few new APIs in this release, including webview.request, media gallery write support, and downloads. Chrome App developers can also now use Chrome Web Store managed in-app payments.
DeviceMotion Events in Chrome for Android
This release introduces the device motion part of the Device Orientation API in Chrome for Android Beta. DeviceMotion events provide you information about device acceleration and rotation rates.
New gestures for Android
In Chrome for Android edition, new gestures make it even easier to get where you want to go, you’ll be able to:
- Swipe horizontally across the top toolbar to quickly switch tabs.
- Drag vertically down from the toolbar to enter into the tab switcher view.
- Drag down from the menu to open the menu and select the item you want without having to lift your finger.
WebGL in Chrome for Android
WebGL is a JavaScript API for rendering interactive 3D graphics and 2D graphics. It is now enabled by default in Chrome for Android Beta running on devices with high-end mobile GPUs (this includes Nexus 4 and Nexus 7).
