Windows 8.1 Preview Available for Download

Microsoft has made available for download the Preview version of Windows 8.1. Windows 8.1 is a free update to Windows 8 is coming later this year. It has new ways for you to personalize your PC and includes a wave of awesome new apps and services.

Overview
Windows 8.1 Preview and Windows RT 8.1 Preview are prerelease versions of Windows 8.1. They build on Windows 8 and bring you more ways to stay productive, have fun, and do all the things you need and want to do on your PC. Windows 8.1 Preview and Windows RT 8.1 Preview include enhancements in personalization, search, apps, the Windows Store, and cloud connectivity, and have the security and reliability features you expect from Windows. They're fast, and made to work on a variety of form factors-especially the new generation of touch devices.

How to l install Windows 8.1 Preview?
There are two ways to install Windows 8.1 Preview: through the Windows Store or through the ISO.

Install the Windows 8.1 Preview through the Windows Store
Go to the Windows 8.1 Preview page on Windows.com. Then follow these steps to download Windows 8.1 Preview:

1. Tap or click Get the update on this page, and then follow the instructions.
2. Restart your PC when prompted, and then tap or click the message that appears to get the update from the Windows Store.
3. In the Store, follow the instructions to download and complete the installation.

Download Windows 8.1 Preview (ISO files)
You can install Windows 8.1 Preview using the ISO files (.iso). The links in this section correspond to files available for this download. Download the files appropriate for you.

Product Key
If you install Windows 8.1 Preview through the Windows Store, you don't need a product key. If you download the ISO, you'll need to enter this product key: NTTX3-RV7VB-T7X7F-WQYYY-9Y92F

Languages
Windows 8.1 Preview is available in Arabic, English (US), Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Spanish, Swedish, and Turkish.

System requirements for Windows 8.1 Preview
Windows 8.1 Preview works great on the same hardware that powers Windows 8:

• Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster
• RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)
• Free hard disk space: 16 GB (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
• Graphics card: MicrosoftDirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver

Windows RT 8.1 Preview requires that you have a PC already running Windows RT with 10 GB of free storage space.
