Thunderbird 13.0 Final Released

Thunderbird 13.0.1 released: (June 15th, 2012)
Mozilla has pushed out an emergency update for Thunderbird 13 (June 15th, 2012) to addresses the following issues:
  • YouSendIt no longer expires Filelinks after 1 week.
  • The prompt given when a password had changed sometimes referred to a network error rather than a change of password.
  • Some Linux users may have been unable to start Thunderbird from outside the installation directory.
  • Miscellaneous other stability and display updates.

Thunderbird 13.0 Final is now available for download. This update based on the new Mozilla Gecko 13 engine that's used in Firefox 13.0. You can now view message extracts when performing global searches in Thunderbird 13.0. This release also contains a number of performance and stability improvements. Thunderbird makes e-mailing safer, faster, and easier with such features as intelligent spam filters, a built-in RSS reader, and quick search. Thunderbird was designed to prevent viruses and to stop junk mail. Thunderbird 13.0 includes tabbed e-mail, new search tools and indexing, "smart" folders, support for Firefox's Personas, a simplified setup wizard, and robust junk protections that include phishing and spam filters. What's new in Thunderbird 13.0
Thunderbird 13.0 has the following changes:
New:
  • Filelink: Upload your files to an online storage service and send links to your friends, avoiding bounce back due to large attachments. We have partnered with YouSendIt to bring this feature, but additional partners will be added in the near future.
  • In partnership with Gandi and Hover, you can now sign up for a personalized email address from within Thunderbird. Along with your new email address, Thunderbird will be automatically set up and ready to send and receive messages. We are working with additional suppliers to cover more areas of the world and to provide more options in the future.
