Oracle VM VirtualBox 5.0.2 is now available for download

Oracle has released VirtualBox 5.0.2 (5.0.2 Build 102096) for Windows, Mac, Linux and Solaris. This version is a maintenance release of VirtualBox 5.0 which improves stability and fixes regressions.

Overview
Oracle VM VirtualBox (aka VirtualBox) is a powerful x86 and AMD64/Intel64 virtualization product for enterprise as well as home use. Not only is VirtualBox an extremely feature rich, high performance product for enterprise customers, it is also the only professional solution that is freely available as Open Source Software under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL) version 2.

Presently, VirtualBox runs on Windows, Linux, Macintosh and OpenSolaris hosts and supports a large number of guest operating systems including but not limited to Windows (NT 4.0, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, 7, Windows 8/8.1), DOS/Windows 3.x, Linux (2.4 and 2.6), Solaris and OpenSolaris, and OpenBSD.

Note!: Please be aware that Windows 10 is not yet officially supported. There are known problems with VirtualBox 5.0.2 on Windows 10 hosts and with Windows 10 guests.

According to the changelog, VirtualBox 5.0.2 Build 102096 contains the following updates:

• VMM: added support for guest crash report MSRs with Hyper-V paravirtualization
• VMM: fixed an issue causing artifically high load averages on Linux hosts
• VMM: fixed a kernel panic with thread-context hooks caused by incompatible changes made to Linux 4.2 kernels
• VMM: fixed a saved state issue with VT-x/AMD-V disabled (5.0 regression; bug #14304)
• VMM: fixed VERR_SUPDRV_TSC_DELTA_MEASUREMENT_FAILED Guru Meditations on certain AMD CPUs (5.0 regression; bug #14370)

• GUI: X11: fixed few crashes caused by the Qt alien widgets feature
• GUI: X11: fixed various mini-toolbar geometry quirks like positioning, z-order, transiency issues on certain window managers (bug #14257)
