Apple has released updates for iTunes to address a problem where certain podcast episodes may download unexpectedly after upgrading and includes several stability improvements.
Overview
iTunes is a free digital media player application for Mac and PC. It plays and organizes all your digital music and video files on your computer. It keeps all your content in sync. And it’s a store on your computer, iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad, as well as the Apple TV that has everything you need to be entertained. Anywhere. Anytime.
iTunes can connect to the iTunes Store to purchase and download music, music videos, television shows, iPod Games, Audiobooks, Podcasts, movies and movie rentals (not available in all countries), and Ringtones (only available on iPhone and iPod Touch 4th Generation). It is also used to download Apps from the App Store for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
As part of iCloud, iTunes in the Cloud takes what you buy on iTunes on one device and pushes it to all your other devices, wirelessly and without syncing. And with iTunes Match, even the songs you’ve imported from CDs are stored in iCloud - so you can access them on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV, Mac, or PC.

What's new in iTunes 11.2?
Apple has released iTunes 11.2.0. This release of iTunes come with improvements for browsing the Podcasts that allowing users to more quickly find episodes they haven't listened to. It also addresses an issue where iTunes may become unresponsive when updating Genius and improves overall performance and stability. iTunes 11.2 update includes the following improvements:
Improved Podcast Browsing
- Quickly find episodes you haven’t listened to in the new Unplayed tab.
- Browse episodes that are available to download or stream in the Feed tab.
- Save your favorite episodes to keep them on your computer.
- Episodes can now be automatically deleted after you play them.
iTunes 11.2.0 also resolves an issue where iTunes may become unresponsive when updating Genius and improves overall performance and stability. Podcasts for iOS 2.1 or later is recommended when syncing podcast episodes.
iTunes 11.2.1 for OS X: According to an Apple's security update page, this issue was addressed with improved permission handling.
