Overview
TightVNC Java Viewer is a free cross-platform remote control client. It is a fully-functional remote control client written entirely in Java. It can work on any computer where Java is installed. That can be Windows or Mac OS, Linux or Solaris - it does not make any difference. And it can work in your browser as well.
- It connects to another computer and displays its live remote desktop.
- It lets you control the remote computer with your mouse and keyboard, just like you would do it sitting in the front of that computer.

TightVNC Java Viewer 2.6 introduce two big features:
- Maintaining connection history, to save you from typing anything twice,
- Built-in SSH tunneling to secure your TightVNC connections.
These two features raise TightVNC Java Viewer to a new level. Up until now, TightVNC Java Viewer used to be good mainly as Web applet mode. Now it has grown into a fully-functional desktop application.
TightVNC Java Viewer 2.6 allows you to select hosts you connected to, and automatically saves connection options per each host. And the most recent connection is pre-loaded into the form automatically. You don't need to enter anything twice.
TightVNC Java Viewer also includes built-in SSH tunneling that lets you automatically create an encrypted virtual connection to a remote SSH server and send all data through this channel. If you care about security, you can using SSH tunneling for each TightVNC connection.
