Mozilla has pushed out an emergency update for Firefox 13 to addresses the following issues:
- Windows Messenger did not load in Hotmail, and the Hotmail inbox did not auto-update (764546, fixed in 13.0.1)
- Hebrew text sometimes rendered incorrectly (756850, fixed in 13.0.1)
- Flash 11.3 sometimes caused a crash on quit (747683, fixed in 13.0.1)
Firefox 13 adds and updates several features, such as an updated new tab and home tab page. The new tab page will display nine of the user's most visited websites, along with a cached image. The updated home tab features a Google search box and links to the user's bookmarks, add-ons, history, downloads, and the add-on marketplace.
In addition to the updated new tab and home tab page, Firefox 13 support for "tabs on demand" will restore tabs that were open in the previous session, but will keep the tabs unloaded until you request to view the page, and a new Reset Firefox feature for attempting to fix major problems with a single click.
Note: Firefox 13 Final will be officially unveiled on June 5, when it should also become available as an update to existing Firefox users.
